Last Day (+ The Three)

Today is the last day of July. And my first full month on Blogger is coming to a close. I've really gotten into it and I'm really pleased that I am able to do this. There are so many girls and young women just like me that have blogs and want to show their 'passion for fashion' via the web. I've managed 28 posts for July, and that's a pretty good average considering I've not only taken pictures of myself, but of others as well. I started this blog as a sort of online portfolio for when I am applying to publications. It's my way of having a documented history of my fashion taste, personal style and writing ability all one click away from potential employers. But it's honesty come to be a lot more than that, and I can only hope that one day I can be in the same league as the Man Repeller, Chicmuse and Fashiontoast. But until then... keep on steppin'.

Pool Daze

Finally an outfit post! For a day at the pool, I got a little dressier than usual with some wedges, but it was still very light and comfortable. And of course I threw everything off the second I got into the sun...

Thylane Chic

Thylane Lena-Rose Blondeau. She's 10 years old and she's the toast of the fashion world right now. This tiny little Paris model is about the cutest girl I've ever seen. She is going to be quite the babe when she gets older. And that name! So chic.

It's Yoga

Yoga on the back porch. The essentials are:

water: Smart, tennis shoes: New Balance, yoga mat: Gaiam

Any equipment will do, but all you really need is a cool bottle of water, tennis shoes that make your legs look good, and a yoga mat in a simple, peaceful color. Mint green was my choice. 

Zoe Studs

I haven't had any outfit posts lately... I've realized that my camera sucks and that I need a new one so I am ashamed to take pictures with it. And I don't have time. But more the fact that I'm embarrassed.

Here's Zoe Saldana at the premier of Captain America in Hollywood. Zoe has a new movie, Columbiana, opening in August, and I hear that she's committed to doing more Avatar with James Cameron. Hell yea. Will it take another 10 years for Avatar: The Sequel? Only time will tell. My girl's rocking some major stud shoes and the best update on a suit I've seen in a long time. it's not really a suit, but the jacket and shorts match, so it's a suit. Check it.

RED Stripes and Hunters

Came across this on Polyvore today when I typed 'Stripes and Hunters' into Google. Ha. My namesake! Red Stripes and Hunters is the name of the post, and how great is that. First of all, Polyvore makes it so easy to post items into blogs. Awesome. And second, this outfit they've put together is awesome. Or maybe it's just me and my affinity for my black Hunter boots and anything striped.

A Lesson in Planking

According to Wikipedia, "the planking or lying down game is an activity consisting of lying face down in an unusual or incongruous location. The hands must touch the sides of the body and having a photograph of the participant taken and posted on the Internet is an integral part of the game. Players compete to find the most unusual and original location in which to play."

Okay I get it. Wait, no I do not. I do not at all.

Friday Funday

I asked Joe what the title of this post should be since it's about him and he said 'Friday Funday'. So here it is. After a long day of moving Joe into an empty room in my apartment, we become official roomies! We went to this amazing restaurant in Lansing called Troppo where we ate and drank and a wasted old man came up to us and 'congratulated Joe on my beautiful blue eyes'. He then walked away and proceeded to run down the street away from the restaurant and then come back and go into a neighboring bar. He was nice. Then we went to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. Just as amazing the second time around. Here's what we wore.
